Wisteria Garden Club was founded in 1946 by a small group of southern ladies in the beautiful town of Fairhope, AL, located on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. The purpose of the Wisteria Garden Club is to encourage the study and appreciation of flowers, native trees, and plants as well as fostering respect for the environment. A strong emphasis is placed upon civic beautification endeavors. Scholarship awards are presented annually to outstanding college students pursuing a degree in horticulture, landscape design or a related field.
Wisteria Garden Club membership is presently comprised of 40 active members, as well as 9 associate and 9 honorary members. Wisteria Garden Club is organized exclusively for educational purposes and qualifies as a Section 501 (c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code, operating as a not-for-profit organization.
